TWISTED, A Fairytale Halloween 29 October 2005 @ Naasha Dungeons, San Gwann
A The Guild Malta event
Entrance: FREE Theme : For one night there will be no such thing as happily ever after
Following last June's ABSINTHIA, The Guild return with this hauntingly inspired Halloween party. And indeed the inspiration behind this party is something truly twisted.
G. K. Chesterton once wrote : "A fairy tale is a tale told in a morbid age to the only remaining sane person, a child". Hence one is left to wonder what was before the tale, and what made the adults less sane. Through dark enchanting music from Peter Murphy, the Banshees, Fields, Xymox and the like, the Guild Malta shall take you to discover the sexual violence and cannibalism behind the origins of tales like Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty & the like. Just as an example, Little Red Riding Hood's red cloak represented puberty in line with being a classic 17th century sign for a "working girl".
So get ready oh all ye gory goths (yes she will be there too) to dress morbid for this Samhain night out, as Snow White, Hensel & Gretel , & the Wizard of Oz shall all be walking & flying in & out of the Naasha Dungeons to bring you all the perversions that were not narrated to you when you were younger. On top of that, there is a reward for the two mostly creative costumes, so who knows maybe someone will dare to dress up as the Big Bad Wolf and remind all the inspiration behind the red cloaked bitch girl sent to serve in the forest --- which on a personal note, helps me not refrain from remembering DYSMENORRHEA's "Bloody Tears of the Big Bad Wolf" - maybe an uncalled for pun here but for once I am allowed to be perverse :) So come on all, make it a point to be at TWISTED to indulge yourselves as perverse drinks shall be served all night!

SANTA SANGRE, 16 October 2005 8.30pm @ Antalex, bottom of Strait Street, Valletta
A Westside Films night at the movies
Entrance: LM1 on pre-booking
A rare chance to see Alejandro Jodorowsky 's superb surrealist masterpiece SANTA SANGRE.
Alexandro Jodorowsky (born February 7, 1929, in Tocopilla, Chile to Ashkenazi Jewish parents) is an actor, director, producer, composer, mime, and comic book writer. Most known for having directed a handful of esoteric, surreal and shocking films, he is also a New Age spiritualist, and one of the world's leading researchers of the Tarot.
Also one of the creators of Panic Movement, Jodorowsky once said, "Most directors make films with their eyes. I make films with my testicles." Hence, one might easily say this is a unique film recommended for connoisseurs of the offbeat!
Antalex (that roughly fits about 50 people) has been chosen to make for a warm screening cosily among friends, so book early on westsidefilms@yahoo.co.uk not to be disappointed.

SPIN CD Launch, 01 July 2005 9.00pm @ Remedy NightClub, Paceville
Entrance: FREE on purchase of LM4 CD or LM1.50
Having been absent for a while from the live front yet nonetheless busy on revamping their totally user-friendly website and more than beefy soung, this Friday is the return of SPIN live and launching their 2nd mini-CD, followed by an after-party by Nik & Spank, both among fave DJs at Bisoul's own latest events.
The entrance fee to this good night out is only LM1.50 but for a mere LM4 upgrade one may also get hold of SPIN's 2nd mini-CD which modern metal sound with that tentalising industrial sampling just smashes and smashes like a bulldozer rolling over the remains of a post-war field and crushing any signs of survival spot on!! This is the feeling tracks like Destruction Unit and Feed your Mind bring forth to one's imagination - just what it would be like..... what would be of us then..... whereabout will we end if there is survival?
Add to that top-notch industrial, EBM and IDM sessions from the DJs in the after-party and one got the best recipe for a killer vibe till the very next morning.
Be there or get spinfected.....

ABSYNTHIA, 28 June 2005 9.30pm @ Naasha Dungeons, San Gwann
A The Guild Malta event
Entrance: FREE Theme : celebrating the visionary properties of Absynthe
After a long hiatus, art celebrants and mates from The Guild return with this free-entry event that seems to going to be holding quite a vibe in store. The theme in question is the decadent opulence of the Art Deco Years as the Green Fairy sneeks out of the magic bottle in a fight against Nosferatu and his Comrades sneeking out of the NaaSha Dungeon walls. Add to that Bisoul sponsor www.gorygoth.com selling anything from Absinthe related to Alchemy rings and opulents to magic crystal balls for those who by whatever spell/ vision/ imagination may dare look into their future, or inhale the fume of their fiery present.
Onto the musical side of things, while The Guild are more known for Goth EBM Industrial themed parties, it is cool to note that they too have dared venture into other fields as for Absynthia, they shall be feasting us with dark ethnic music going onto ambient and ethno-electro surely for those with a desire to dance later into the night. I am sure that who may have attended previous Guild parties will be more than convinced that this change would be a more than welcome alternative as after all variety is the spice of life.
Last note from our side is to suggest patrons to dress up in their most extravagant way and to bring along your own special glass to pour the divine elixir into. Remember you shall be watched by fairies, goblins and crystal balls..... while celebrating this night in style.

ROTTING CHRIST, 18-19 March 2005 7.30pm @ Signals Live Venue, Tal-Qroqq
An Extreme Noise Promotions event with support bands SLIT and MARTYRIUM & guest DJs
Tickets: Friday welcome party FREE, Saturday Live Concert LM5 from venue
Here they come for the metal community, one of the seminal bands from the Greek black metal scene along NECROMANTIA, VARATHRON and the like, finally in Malta --- the one and only, the legendary ROTTING CHRIST!
Including 2 members from the original line-up from back in 1987, and being one of the first non-Norwegian acts to have had interest from now dead Euronymous of Deathlike Silence fame, RC have gone a long way from performing with underground jewels like EMPEROR, SAMAEL and ANCIENT RITES to opening for MEGADETH and BRUCE DICKINSON and other heavyweights like DEICIDE and CANNIBAL CORPSE, but above all to have Mille Petrozza himself appear as guest vocalist to KREATOR's own Pleasure to Kill/Flag of Hate medley performed by RC to an avid large festival crowd in Germany!!! Not to mention when they supported VENOM, an experience to mention as this was a heavy inspiration/aspiration for RC members since they were kids and started playing music in the first place!!!
Having done the roster with such label names like OSMOSE and UNISOUND and having flirtered with a logo change for a while, ROTTING CHRIST are now back in their blackest form signed to CENTURY MEDIA and ready to play Malta supported by no other than Malta's blasphemest export MARTYRIUM, as well as SLIT. Be there for this Feast of the Grand Whore which shall also feature Bisoul's own NecroGool, Nik from DMM & QueenVamp as guest DJs!!!
Meanwhile visit the Exiled Archangels here!!!

The Wizard of OddZ - When EVIL taints the Good, 12 (7pm) -13 March (3pm) @ The Salesians Theatre, Sliema
A Karr Krow presentation directed by Noel Baldacchino
Tickets from D'Amato Record Center, Valletta & Balloon Man's Fun Shop, BayStreet : Lm3 & LM3.50
Karr Krow, the Dare Devil of the Impossible is back!!! Fresh from his latest Halloween appearance at Bisoul's own GeNeTiKa, the Karr Krow crew mellow it up a bit by putting their eyes on fantasy story The Wizard of Oz.
Adopted from the original 1900 book by Frank Baum himself, the original stage version recounts the story of Dorothy (played by Elle Noir), kidnapped by a twister and thrown in the magical land of the Munchkins where she meets the Wise Scarecrow, the Dehumanized Tinman & the Cowardly Lion, and together they follow the yellow brick road to find The Wizard (Karr Krow) in the Emerald City of Oz.
Hehehe! Spooky as he is, Karr Krow's version focuses big time on the perils, traps and the evil Spider Monkey hindering Dorothy's journey.
"The Wizard of Oz" premiered at Broadway's Majestic Theatre on January 1903. It was the longest running show of the decade. During the Silent movie era various adaptations were made, only to culminate in the classic screen version of 1939, shot at MGM Studio in Hollywood. This is a tale that knows no age and no boundaries. Karr Krow relives the adventure, set in the post-apocalyptic world of 2099, in a land where innocents are still assaulted and robbed of their lives, where individuals still search for a heart, where cowards bully through violence.
Dare you want more Krow?

The Fall of the House of Usher, 18-20, 25-27 February 2005 7.30pm @
St James Cavalier
www.sjcav.org
An
M.A.D.C. production directed by Frederick Testa
Tickets: Lm3.50 opening, Lm5 thereafter
A shot at the stage at
Steven Berkoff’s adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s gothic short story “The Fall of the
House of Usher”, this chilling tale of decay takes the audience into another
world through gesture, mime, narration,
music and light.
The twisted passion of Roderick Usher for his ghostly
sister Madeline is masterly captured through Testa's direction, the actors’
bodies creating and replacing the props and furniture, and the audiences’
imagination adding to this ultimate experience. The actors are the house and
its decaying fabric, and they speak as the stones and the memories that are
etched into the wall of the moldering ancestral house reflecting Usher's inner
decay and chaos...... for more info and booking
