For those who love and have traveled the world, the idea of spooky theatre is no news, in fact nowadays one may even find horror-themed restaurants who build their business around such themes. But for those who for any reason have traveled less, and especially since such a production is a first on such a small island as Malta, KARR KROW is going to introduce this concept at GeNeTiKa; that is, the world of cinematic horror!

So what is the concept for xokROK, KARR KROW’s show?

xokROK, a new concept in stage theatrics, takes the whole audience onto a turbulent trip into a world of dark fantasy and illusion. Mystical characters, fire and chains are woven together in a spectacle of visuals that stir emotions, as Karr Krow lives his passion for seduction, fear and impossible love in a fantastic & forgotten world kept in equilibrium by feelings and destruction...

Born out of nature's need to balance the disturbances in today's world, Karr Krow is half good, half evil. As he walks the night in pain, his almost supernatural encounters with mystical characters from a past he cannot envisage anymore, give rise to a battle of emotions. His foes are fear, desire, grief, sorrow and anger. Emotions that hurt. Emotions that turned him into a true “DareDevil of the Impossible”. In this stage representation of the world of Krow, the audience is invited to follow his footsteps, and explore his world of feelings; a world that exists only on stage and in the darkest of fantasies.

But how?

The show will involve cutting edge illusions like heads being pierced with spikes, chains penetrating through bodies, nail swallowing, playing with fire torches, escape after being tied with 100 feet of chains & rope and more.

Interesting visuals!! So what about the music?

Remixed commercial Rock and Gothic style music and original soundtracks composed exclusively for the show, create the background to the realistic visual effects and fast paced action. Most of the main sequences are woven around remixed tracks from bands like HIM & NIGHTWISH, mixed with unedited music effects and ambient sounds.

Although a first for Malta, KROW’s show has already been performed a few times. So how have you been received?

The show was originally premiered in 2003 and performed mostly in closed-doors event. In March 2004 a cut-down version was performed at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall, Malta University to the general public. Although the audience was mostly composed of youths and families, it was received with great excitement. Many like horror movies, and the show catapults the audience into such a world; only all is performed right before their eyes.

Interesting comments as KROW hinders most of his own feelings to let the press do the talking. However please, one last word dear half-good half-bad omen?  How are you going to shock at GeNeTiKa? I hear that the fact that this is the Gothiest scenario you have yet to perform in, has made for an exclusive set-up for us right?

At GeNeTiKa we are not going to cut corners. We are going to switch on ALL modes of the show, leave in all the gore, leave in all the flowing blood, leave in all the macabre innuendos, leave in all the anger highlights, leave in all the sensual interludes.
